Carver's apartement: kitchen
Carver: 6:00 a.m. health smoothie, huh? You turning over a new leaf again?
Tori: I don't know. You tell me... It's my patented bourbon breakfast smoothie... What do you think?
Carver: Uh, I think it's a little early for a cocktail, T, even for us.
Tori: On a regular day, maybe, but today is a special occasion.
Carver: Mm.
Tori: Brandy at F&T Lounge texted me, and she said she can get me three nights a week behind bar just to start.
Carver: I didn't realize you were applying for jobs in Chicago.
Tori: Well, yeah, I figured I'd stay around for a while, unless you don't want me to, then...
Carver: Uh, it's not that. You just... I... I just wasn't expecting it, that's all. I figured you were probably itching to get back to your life already.
Tori: No, I... I know it's a big move, but I feel like you're better when I'm around. I know it's hard for a tough guy like you to admit it, but I think you need me, Sam... And I know that I need you.
----------
CFD: gym
Stephen Vale: Nice sucker punch there the other night, Dom. Make you feel tough?
Pascal: Walked away feeling better than you, I'll bet.
Stephen Vale: You know, good thing I downplayed the whole thing to my guests. Could have gone real bad for you.
Pascal: Oh, that's right. You're rubbing elbows with aldermen now.
Stephen Vale: Not just any alderman. Molina's head of the Finance Committee.
Pascal: Well, can you see if he can do something about that pothole on Webster? It's like a meteor crater.
Stephen Vale: Yeah, you know what? Go ahead and joke, but I could have had you fired just like that. And you know what? Who knows? Maybe I still will. Guess you'll just have to wait and wonder.

Firehouse: common room
Cruz: Well, it's official. The city has finally gone to hell.
Kidd: What happened, Cruz?
Cruz: Some scumbag stole Javi's bike right off of our back porch.
Kidd: Oh, man.
Novak: What? The back porch?
Cruz: Look, the poor kid, he spent a year saving up, researching cycling websites just to find this exact bike. It was like his prized possession.
Tony: What kind of lowlife steals a bike from a kid?
Cruz: I know, right? And the look on his face, it tore my heart out of my chest. I could strangle the son of a bitch who did it.
Mouch: Well, before you resort to vigilante justice, did you call the cops?
Cruz: Like they can actually do something?
Mouch: Hmm. If only you knew someone capable of summoning the vast resources of the Chicago Police Department.
Cruz: Mouch, do not bother Trudy with this. I'm sure she's got bigger fish to fry.
Mouch: She won't be bothered. I think she'll appreciate the chance to show you cynics what the boys in blue are capable of.
Kidd: I'm sorry, bud.
----------
Violet: Hey.
Carver: Hey. I, uh, I heard you and Tori had a chance to talk the other day.
Violet: Mm.
Carver: I hope it means you guys can be friends, or at least friendly. I mean, she's decided to stick around for a while.
Dispatch: Ambo 61, person down of unknown causes, 1804 South Morgan.
----------
Building: hallway
Gerry: I was walking past her door, and I saw it was open, and she's lying on the ground.
----------
Building: apartment
Gerry: I don't think she's breathing.
Violet: Okay... Hand me the monitor. Thank you. What's her name?
Gerry: I... I don't know. We never really talked.
Novak: No pulse. But she's still warm.
Violet: All right, start an IV... Ah, she's asystole.
Gerry: What does that mean? Is she dead?
Violet: Yes. But we have to perform CPR anyway, which, sir, you might wanna step away for this... All right, start pushing epi.
Novak: Mm-hmm.
Violet: All right, switch... All right, I'm gonna call telemetry, report a DOA. Start packing up.
Ivy: Is it my sister? Is she okay? Chrissy. Oh, my God... What happened?
Violet: I am so sorry. We are not exactly sure. When we got here, she was... There was nothing we could do. She was already gone.
Ivy: What about the baby?
Violet: I'm sorry? You're saying that she's...
Ivy: Yes, she's, like, eight months pregnant with a girl.
Violet: I feel movement... And a heartbeat... Yeah? Okay, the baby is alive... Okay, push epi again.
Novak: Okay.
Ivy: I thought you said she was gone.
Violet: She is, but we're trying to keep blood flowing to the baby. Ambo 61 to Main, we need another ambo and a fire company assist right away.
Dispatch: Ambo 61, the next available fire company is 12 minutes out. Next available ambo is 15 minutes out.
Novak: 15 minutes? Oh, this city...
Violet: That'll be at least 20 minutes before we can get her to the hospital. Stop compressions.
Ivy: Can you still hear it?
Violet: Heart rate is slowing down. She won't even make it to the hospital.
Ivy: No, please, you can't... Don't give up. Can you do a C-section or something?
Novak: We're not allowed to do that, ma'am.
Ivy: Who cares? If it'll save her, then just do it, please.
Novak: It is really not that simple.
Violet: Novak. I just did an obstetrics rotation for con-ed and gotta scrub in on two C-sections.
Novak: Can you do it?
Violet: I think so. But this is way, way outside of our scope. If this doesn't work out...
Novak: I know. We're screwed.
Violet: You should step away. There's no point in both of us risking...
Novak: No way. I'm not going anywhere. We are in this together.
Violet: Okay, continue compressions and bag her.
----------
Violet: All right, what's your name?
Ivy: Ivy.
Violet: Okay, Ivy, I'm gonna make a series of incisions, okay?
Ivy: Okay. Okay.
Violet: Here we go... Okay, I'm through the skin. Now I'm cutting into the fascia layers... Okay, we're almost there. I can see the uterus now. Just one incision away.
Ivy: Oh, is that the baby's head?
Violet: Here she comes.
Ivy: Please, please, please.
Violet: Okay, stop pumping and clamp the umbilical cord.
Novak: Okay.
Violet: She still has a pulse. It's faint, but it's there. BVM.
Ivy: Why is she so blue?
Violet: She's not breathing. Come on, sweetie. You can do it. Come on... Come on, baby girl. Come on. You can do it. Come on. Come on... Okay, I'm gonna start compressions... Oh, yeah, good girl.

Firehouse: Severide's quarters
Severide: Hey.
Kidd: Still no word back from Damon yet, huh?
Severide: Radio silence.
Kidd: Do you know if he's landed at another house yet?
Severide: Ooh, no idea.
Kidd: Well, I am on the phone with Personnel every other day right now. I can see what I can find out.
Severide: Don't bother. He obviously wants his space. I should give it to him. What's that?
Kidd: Floater pool roster. Feels like I am scraping the bottom of the barrel. Have you ever worked with this guy Bronkowski?
Severide: What happened to Kylie?
Kidd: She's still my first choice. She's coming by later to chat. I just wanted to have one decent backup in case Pascal has opinions.
Severide: I thought he said this was your call.
Kidd: He did, but for some reason, he's still making me feel like if I don't find a rock star, I'll be out on my ass.
Severide: You'll work it out. You always do... I gotta finish this report, though, I mean, or else we're both gonna be on Pascal's hit list.
Kidd: Right.
----------
Firehouse: common room
Cruz: Ugh, come on, Capp. Loser buys Gene and Jude's tonight, not next week.
Capp: Okay, okay. Uh, what's the trump suit again? Spades?
Cruz & Tony: Clubs.
Cruz: Hey. What did Trudy say?
Mouch: Did you know there were over 8,000 bike thefts in Chicago last year? 8,000. That's a staggering number, isn't it?
Cruz: Hmm. Let me guess. You were not able to summon the vast resources of the Chicago Police Department?
Mouch: No, I was not. But I did summon the vast knowledge of the Chicago Police Department, and Trudy says these guys usually put their stolen goods up on resale websites within a few hours, so she thinks if you jump on it now, you... You stand a decent chance of finding it.
Capp: Come on, Cruz. There can't be that many websites. Craigslist, OfferUp. What else? If we each search a different one, I'm sure we'll find it in no time. Come on.
----------
CMED: PICU
Flora: The docs think the mom may have suffered an amniotic fluid embolism.
Violet: Oh, okay. Uh, has the father arrived yet?
Flora: According to Ivy, dad's been out of the picture since he found out Chrissy was pregnant. Didn't want anything to do with it. So Ivy is going to assume custody.
Novak: I can't imagine what that poor woman is going through.
Violet: Yeah.
Flora: The good news is, the baby is in perfect health. They're saying she could be out of here in two or three days. I gotta tell you, it took serious guts, what you two did. I don't care what the docs say. You guys are heroes in my book.
Novak: Thanks for the update.
----------
Violet: Oh, this can't be good. Don't say a word, and that is an order. Chief Robinson.
Robinson: Mikami, this is Sean Turner from the Illinois State Medical Board.
Sean Turner: Investigative Unit.
Violet: All right, I think I know why you're here.
Sean Turner: Then you must know that what you did today was recklessly and dangerously outside your scope of practice as a paramedic. This is an extremely serious breach of duty, Ms. Mikami.
Violet: I would just like to be clear, and this will be in my report, of course. My partner was not involved in any way.
Novak: Violet.
Violet: As paramedic in charge, I made the decision and physically performed the procedure, while Novak continued to follow all termination of resuscitation protocols to the letter.
Robinson: Based on Mikami's record and my observation as her paramedic chief, I have no reason to doubt her on that.
Sean Turner: Pending a review of the Medical Board of the state of Illinois, your EMS license is suspended until further notice.
Robinson: I have to pull you off 61 immediately. I'll send a replacement out to your firehouse to finish out your shift... Go home, Mikami.
----------
Firehouse: locker room
Pascal: Chief Robinson filled me in. I'm sure she told you you'd be on desk duty until this case is resolved. I requested that you be able to do it at chief assistant's desk here at 51. I thought it'd take some of the sting out of it, being among family.
Violet: What do you think is gonna happen to me?
Pascal: EMS licensing, it's way out of the jurisdiction of the CFD, unfortunately. And the state medical board doesn't care what anyone in your chain of command has to say.
Violet: They're gonna revoke my license, aren't they?
Pascal: I don't know... But just because your superiors at the CFD can't do anything doesn't mean no one can. You've been a paramedic forever. I'm sure you know somebody with influence in the public health world. The right advocate could force them to see the optics of what they're doing to you.
----------
Firehouse: common room
Capp: Ooh, check this out. Some bonehead is selling a 10-foot pool table, for 300 bucks.
Cruz: Why are you looking for bikes in the furniture section?
Capp: For your information, pool tables are in the sporting goods section.
Cruz: Yeah, and bikes are in the bike section.
Capp: There's a bike section? Oh, that explains everything.
Cruz: Oh, my God, this is pointless. We're never gonna find it.
Tony: Wait.
Cruz: What? Let me guess. You found a really good deal on a lightly damaged croquet set?
Tony: No. A blaze orange RipRock 24 with black trim, posted about four hours ago.
Cruz: Really?
Tony: It's even got the orange circles on the handlebar grip.
Cruz: That's totally Javi's bike.
Tony: That dirtbag wants 150 bucks for it.
Cruz: Uh. Okay, okay, so what? What do we do? Do we reach out to him, tell him we're interested and wanna check it out?
Capp: That's a terrible idea. Just offer him 300 for it.
Cruz: What?
Capp: You gotta reel him in with an offer he can't refuse so he won't sell it to anyone else.
Cruz: That is a... That's actually brilliant, kinda. Yeah, yeah, okay, send the message.
Capp: And the bait is in the water.
----------
CMED: hallway
Violet: Thank you for seeing me on such short notice, Ms. Goodwin. I know how busy you are.
Sharon Goodwin: How are you getting along?
Violet: So you heard about my case then, I take it?
----------
CMED: Sharon Goodwin's office
Sharon Goodwin: Oh, I know broad strokes. Dr. Asher had a similar tragedy happen on her watch. But how can I help you, Violet?
Violet: Uh. I'm... I'm not exactly sure. My chief suggested that I... No, um, the thing is, I don't really know how the medical board works, but I heard that if I can get someone with some influence to advocate for me, maybe they could help persuade the board to think about... I don't know, the optics of the whole situation, I guess.
Sharon Goodwin: The folks on the board are all Mds. And I'm sure I don't need to tell you doctors are not known for their charitable view of paramedics, so I wouldn't expect them to go easy on a paramedic who took actions that, right or wrong, are the strict purview of licensed medical doctors.
Violet: So that's it then? I'm done?
Sharon Goodwin: Well, what you asked me before about getting someone with influence on the board to speak up for you, I don't really think that'll help. You don't want someone like me there arguing medical facts. You want someone who's got some serious political muscle in City Hall, at the State House. That's who will get the board's attention and remind them who they answer to.
----------
Firehouse: Kidd's quarters
Kidd: Awesome. Thank you... Hey, I just got off the phone with Garcia in Personnel. He says Damon's been working at 20's house the last couple shifts. You know, in case you wanna pop by there.
Severide: I get what you're trying to do, but he knows where to find me.
Kidd: Yeah, but he is confused and pissed off, and you're his older, wiser brother, who had a lot of good and valid reasons for wanting me to keep him on Truck. And those are the same reasons why you should not stop trying to reach out to him... Oh, Kylie's here.
Severide: All right, go round out your rig, and we'll talk about this later.
Kidd: Or you could just go see him because I... I don't really have anything more to say about it.
----------
Firehouse: hallway
Kylie: Hi.
Kidd: You're turning me down, huh?
Kylie: I'm sorry, Lieutenant. You've been... You've literally changed my life, and I'm so grateful for that.
Kidd: You don't have to apologize for being happy at 46.
Kylie: It's not that. I mean, it's a good house, but every firefighter I know would kill to be at 51, especially me. You know what they call me at 46? MK. It stands for Mini-Kidd. My fear is that if I work under you, I'd never be able to shake that stupid nickname. I'd always feel like I couldn't hack it on my own.
Kidd: I get it. And you don't have to feel bad. I... I... I'm the one that should feel bad for putting you on the spot like this.
Kylie: No.
Dispatch: Engine 51, Truck 81, Ambo 61, child trapped. Ladder rescue.
Kylie: Go get 'em, Lieutenant.
----------
Park
Kidd: What's going on?
Dan: My daughter's up there. The wind just picked her up.
Kidd: Truck 81 to Main, we need a ComEd tech at our location ASAP. Mouch, raise the aerial.
Mouch: Copy.
Kidd: And, Engine, get all these people back.
Dispatch: Copy 81. We'll notified.
Ritter: Everyone, move back, please.
Dan: Hang on, Riley. The firemen are here.
Riley: Daddy!
Kidd: Hey, hey, we are gonna get her, but I need you to step back right now for your safety. Come on... Ritter, be ready to hit that kite if it catches a spark.
Ritter: Copy that.
Kidd: Hang on, sweetheart.
Riley: Mommy!
Ritter: Charge the line.
Kidd: Bull's-eye, Mouch! All right, Carver, with me.
Carver: Copy that.
----------
Aerial
Kidd: Okay, Riley. Hey, we're gonna have you down in two shakes, all right? But I gotta tell you something important. That line that you're holding has electricity in it, so it can't hurt you as long as you don't touch us and we don't touch you. Okay? And we won't. We'll get you down, okay?
Carver: Got you.
----------
Park
Mother: What are they doing?
Dan: She's gonna fall. Hurry up and grab her already, will ya?
----------
Aerial
Carver: We're gonna go to the leg that's farthest away from us, okay?
Kidd: Back a little, Riley. There you go. Perfect.
Carver: Good.
Kidd: All right, we're almost there, Riley. Almost.
Carver: Pick up your leg.
Kidd: That's right. Watch it. Watch it... Stay strong. Here we go, Riley. Okay, on the count of three, let go of the line. I know it's gonna feel scary, but we got you. We're not gonna let you fall. Here we go. You can do this... Okay. Riley, come on. You can do this. Let go. Come on, Riley, you can do this.
----------
Park
Dan: It's okay. It's okay.
----------
Aerial
Kidd: Come on. Let go. Okay, we gotta do this now, Riley, on the count of three, okay? We got you. One, two, three... We got you. We got you. We got you.
Carver: Stay still one more second.
----------
Street
Kidd: I gotcha.
Carver: Yep.
Novak: Whoo.
Mother: Is she okay?
Kidd: Totally fine, right, Riley?
Riley: I'm okay, Mom.
Dan: You guys were... Thank you.
----------
Firehouse: Herrmann's quarters
Kidd: Have a good one, Herrmann.
Herrmann: Hey, you too.
----------
Firehouse: bunk room
Kidd: Hey, Chief.
Pascal: Glad I caught you. What's up with you putting in for another floater next shift? You were supposed to find a solid, permanent replacement for Damon ASAP and not keep the revolving door spinning indefinitely.
Kidd: Yeah, well, it turns out my first choice wasn't available, so I'm vetting more candidates. And I'm trying to be extra thorough about it because I know how important it is for this next one to stick.
Pascal: It sounds like you're overthinking it. Just... Just get it done, Lieutenant... You have one more shift.
----------
Firehouse: bullpen
Novak: I was wondering if you'd get here before we went off shift.
Violet: Yeah, I'm just settling into my glamorous new life. How does it look on me?
Novak: I hate it. It's like watching a white rhino in captivity. What did Goodwin say?
Violet: Oh. She didn't use the word "hopeless," but that is basically what she said, unless I can get some heavy hitter from City Hall or the State House to go to bat for me. Do you know anyone like that? Because I sure as hell don't.
Novak: Well, you can't just give up. There has to be something that we can do. Maybe... Maybe you just have to throw the CFD under the bus. Blame it on our horrible response times.
Pascal: Not a bad idea... I take it your contact at Med didn't offer to take up your cause.
Violet: No, she would do it in a heartbeat. Uh, she just doesn't think it would sway the board. She thinks what I really need is someone with serious political muscle. If anything is gonna make a difference, she thinks it's that.
Pascal: Well, hang in there.
Violet: Maybe I should call my state senator. I am a voter.
Novak: Hell yeah. State senator, congressman, take it all the way to the president.
Violet: Yeah, you know what? I'm gonna do it.
----------
Molly's
Tony: He got back to me right away, so I told him to meet at the baseball fields on 14th.
Cruz: Okay, so it worked. He took the bait... What? Do you think he suspects something's up?
Tony: No, I don't think so.
Cruz: So what's the problem then?
Capp: When he messaged, we saw that his screen name was Goliath187.
Cruz: So?
Capp: You know, the police code for homicide. What if he's a homicidal maniac?
Cruz: Ugh.
Tony: Or a giant?
Capp: There is such a thing as taking a vigilante crusade too far, don't you think? It's just a bike.
Cruz: No, it is not just a bike. It's Javi's bike. I don't care if this guy's handle is PsychoFiremanKiller. I'm going to that baseball field tomorrow, and I'm getting that bike back.
Tony: You guys are gonna come with me, though, right?
----------
Violet: I messaged every elected official in the state practically begging for help, and all I have to show for it is an inbox full of politely worded auto replies.
Ritter: Your tax dollars at work.
Kidd: I just hate that these docs on the medical board are the only ones that get a say.
Mouch: And I'll tell you this. That job is strictly for docs who couldn't hack it in the field.
Violet: Mm-hmm.
Novak: Right? If these guys knew half the insanity that we have to deal with every single day...
Violet: Mm-hmm.
Kidd: Yep.
Tori: You guys have, like, the most interesting job in the world, seems like.
Mouch: Never a dull moment, I'll say that.
Tori: So what's, like, the worst thing y'all have ever seen?
Carver: Uh, I'll tell you the funniest thing that happened to me.
Violet: You said the worst thing, didn't you, Tori?
Tori: Or the funniest if that's what you...
Violet: No. No, no, no, no, no. Let's talk about the worst. I think it's cool. I mean, we all love reliving our darkest traumas for random people's amusement, right?
Carver: Easy, Vi. She didn't mean anything...
Violet: Oh, you don't need to talk for her. She's an adult, I'm pretty sure, and her question was crystal clear... So you wanna know the worst thing? All right, well, let's see.
Ritter: Violet.
Violet: For me, it would be a tie between the six-year-old boy who had half of his face shot off by a stray 9-millimeter bullet or watching my boyfriend get crushed to death by thousands of pounds of concrete while saving a stranger's life, Tori.
Kidd: Hey.
Violet: I'm sorry, you guys... I'm sorry.
----------
Stephen Vale's office
Stephen Vale: It's open... What do you want, Dom?
Pascal: I'm sorry. There's no excuse for what I did.
Stephen Vale: Punching me, you mean?
Pascal: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I was way out of line. And I'm sorry, like I said.
Stephen Vale: You're a real piece of work, you know that? And I don't believe this apology thing for a second. So it's obvious you're saying all of this because you need something from me... So go on. Spit it out.
Pascal: It's not for me.
----------
Firehouse 20: garage
Severide: Jack Damon around?
McVay: Truck 68 is on a run. Something I can help you with, Lieutenant...
Severide: Severide.
McVay: I've heard good things about you, Lieutenant. Your squad is based at 51?
Severide: Yes. That's... that's how I know Damon. He was with us for a while. I... I'm just checking in on him. How's he getting along?
McVay: He's a good kid, good firefighter. Seems to fit in okay. His lieutenant was thinking of putting him on full-time, but...
Severide: Something happen?
McVay: Maybe you can tell me. When his lieutenant asked why he left Truck 81, Damon seemed a little evasive, didn't wanna talk about it, which felt like a red flag to me, so I told his lieutenant to put a pin in it.
Severide: Well, I think you're right. Damon is a good firefighter. Uh, 51 was just... We got a new chief shaking things up. Everyone's trying to adjust. I... I don't think it was the best time for a kid right out of the academy to find himself there. But I have seen him in action. And I'm sure if you give him a chance, he could be more than a good firefighter. He could be a great one.
----------
Park
Capp: Psst, psst. Hey, here he comes.
Boy: You TonyLoco?
Cruz: Yeah, that's me.
Boy: Let me see the money.
Cruz: What?
Boy: You said that you'd give me 300. Let's see it.
Cruz: Okay, relax, kid. I'm not gonna rip you off. I'm a civil servant, not a thief.
Boy: You want it or not?
Cruz: Well, I gotta test ride it first.
Boy: Fine. But you break it, you buy it... Don't go too far, just to that lamp post... Stop there... Stop. Hey, that guy's stealing my bike... Stop.
Cruz: How does it feel, Goliath? Ha-ha!
Boy: Really?
----------
Firehouse: hallway
Mouch: Hey, any news about Violet?
Herrmann: Uh, not yet. The hearing's this afternoon.
Mouch: Okay, I can see the old hamster wheel turning there, Herrmann. What's on your mind?
Herrmann: That Pascal, he's got a real bug up his ass about truck, doesn't he? I mean, he's got Kidd sweating bullets about her next hire, I mean, like, it's gotta be the second coming of Christ or he's gonna take away her bugles.
Mouch: And?
Herrmann: And I was thinking that maybe I could do something to help.
Mouch: If it's what I think you're thinking, I think it's the perfect solution.
Herrmann: Really?
Mouch: It's a brilliant plan and bold and selfless, everything you'd expect from a future battalion chief.
Herrmann: All right, take it easy there.
Mouch: But the real question is, what are you gonna do about Engine?
Herrmann: I got an idea for that too.
----------
City Hall
Violet: So I get to work at desk for a year at half my salary before they fire me. That's the good news?
Robinson: Hello, Mikami.
Violet: If you are here to put the final nail in my coffin...
Robinson: I'm not. In fact, if I had any influence on this board, believe me, I'd be trying to get them to reinstate your license. You know as well as anyone I do not casually excuse violations of our protocols, but I have also come to believe that there are rare cases where a great paramedic's lifesaving instincts should trump all other considerations. Yours is one of those... Morally, ethically, you did the right thing in my book, Mikami.
Violet: So they're not gonna come down on my side, are they?
Pascal: Violet Mikami, this is Alderman Molina.
Molina: It is an honor to shake your hand, Ms. Mikami. I heard about your heroism in the line of duty. I had to come down here today to address the board on behalf of my constituents at the 25th Ward and this family, who owe so much to your brave actions.
Violet: Sorry. I'm just...
Ivy: Her name is Chrissy.
Violet: She's perfect.
----------
Firehouse: bullpen
Pascal: Alderman Molina just called... The board's decided to dismiss the matter and reinstate your license... And with the baby there to shame them and the alderman threatening to make sure every voter in Chicago would know all the board members by name, I guess they had no other option but to do the right thing.
Violet: Thank you, Chief. That was... I... I... I don't even know what to say.
Pascal: You've already said it.
----------
Firehouse: entrance
Novak: Hey, Chief, wait up... I just, um... I wanted to tell you, um... I just wanted to say that I... I think you're awesome... Amazing, actually. What you did for Violet... I... I'm not sure if you are totally aware of this, but she is one of the best paramedics in the CFD. So you didn't just save her job... You saved a lot of lives.
----------
Firehouse: hallway
Javi: Why are you being so weird, Dad?
Cruz: What's the surprise?
----------
Firehouse: common room
Cruz: Capp... I got your bike back.
Javi: That's not my bike.
Cruz: What? Of course it is. Look, RipRock 24, blaze orange, black trim. It's even got the circle thing on the grip.
Javi: No, it's nice. It's just, this one's a lot older than mine. Where'd you find it?
Boy: That's him. That's the guy who stole my bike.
Cruz: Oh, no, no. No one stole anything here. This is really a big misunderstanding. Um, it's actually kind of funny.
Grand father: So, see, my son... Is not my concern here. You owe this young man $300.
Cruz: Um, right. But If I would have known it was an older model... I mean, look at all the dings and scratches. It's not worth 300.
Grand father: Maybe you should have thought of that before you rode off on it. Now, a deal's a deal... What? You're gonna stiff a 13-year-old kid? Now, that's a new low for the city. You know, in my day, we looked up to firefighters. You were role models in the community. Now you're just common street thugs.
Cruz: Do you take Venmo?
----------
Parking
Severide: Hey.
Damon: I heard you came by the house and talked to Chief McVay. She offered me a permanent spot.
Severide: I'm glad to hear it.
Damon: Why would you do that after everything that happened at 51?
Severide: Hop in. I'll show you.
----------
Firehouse 25: hallway
Damon: Award of Valor five times. I'll never get over that.
Severide: It makes you wonder how a guy could do that much in a career. Benny did it by sacrificing every other important thing in his life... I did that, too, for years. The only thing that mattered more than proving myself to him was proving that I wasn't him. Took a hell of a long time to realize that I would never be Benny, and that's a good thing.
Damon: I'm sorry. I should have never said that.
Severide: I know I'm not Benny. That's why I talked to your chief. I'm not going anywhere, Jack... And I don't want you to waste any more time trying to live up to or fight against the name Severide. What you should do is go out there, and... And you make Damon a name.

Molly's
Mouch: And I have to say, even though Herrmann's bursts of inspiration are generally known to cause more problems than they solve...
Herrmann: Hey.
Mouch: I'm sorry, have you seen the massage chair lately?
Kidd: You guys are killing me. What is this big idea?
Ritter: I wanna move over to Truck... If you'll have me, Lieutenant.
Kidd: Is this for real? You're not yanking my chain?
Herrmann: Ever since he filled in for Mouch last year, I knew Truck is where Ritter wanted to be. So Godspeed.
Kidd: Herrmann!
Herrmann: Ahh!
Kidd: You are a kind, generous human. I just... I... I... I am serious.
Herrmann: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Listen. The only reason why I even considered it is because I have the perfect person that can come fill in on Engine if I need help... Hey, get over here.
Kidd: Girl!

Violet: Hi... I'm so sorry for the other night. I was not in a good place, clearly, but it was not cool of me to take that out on Tori.
Carver: Uh, I get it. I, um, I'm just glad the medical board did the right thing in the end.
Violet: Me too.
Carver: Friends?
Violet: Friends... You know, the thing about friends, and I mean real friends, is that they tell each other the truth, even if it hurts. Right?
Carver: Mm-hmm.
Violet: Take care of yourself, okay? You deserve to be happy, Sam.
