Hospital

Physical Therapist: Amazing. That's impressive range.

Otis: Yeah?

Physical Therapist: Yeah. Marked improvement.

Otis: How much of that did you see?

Boden: What are you talking about? I heard you growling all the way to 51.

Otis: Ah. Each day is like 200% progress.

Boden: I don't doubt it.

Otis: You know, I'm optimistic about my timeline. The surgeon says that he's had Chicago Bulls players that haven't recovered as quickly as me.

Boden: So you gonna be trying out for the Bulls now?

Otis: No, no, but I'm gonna be ready to jump back into service as soon as I get the sign-off.

Boden: Yeah, well, listen. Before that, the bullpen. It's understaffed and has been all year. And maybe instead of sitting at home you know, when you're not doing your therapy, maybe you come on over to 51. Pitch in.

Otis: Desk job?

Boden: It would be really good to have you around the firehouse… A special favour to me… Anyway, you think about it. Let me know.

Street

Dawson: So what do you think about the new guy, Cordova?

Casey: I think he's got to go.

Dawson: Really?

Casey: Yep. Not a good fit. He's a little too cavalier about taking Otis' spot. Can't keep worrying about Herrmann punching him in the mouth. Again.

Dawson: Hm.

Casey: Why do you ask?

Dawson: Hm? Oh, I'm just curious.

Casey: Okay.

Firehouse: garage

Dawson: Yuck.

Brett: First watch left it like this.

Dawson: Are you kidding me? Who were the paramedics?

Brett: Chout and Rafferty. They ducked out before I could even sign in.

Dawson: Rafferty's texts are about to blow up.

Brett: Can't leave it like this.

Briefing room

Boden: Let's settle in. So our neighbours to the west, Firehouse 19, they're out of service this morning due to a roach infestation.

Herrmann: Oh, I've been there. 19 is the worst.

Boden: Yeah, which means we ought to expect a very busy start.

Herrmann: Hey! Otis in the firehouse!

Cruz: Hey, buddy.

Herrmann: Welcome back, Otis.

Capp: Everybody, Otis! Buddy.

Boden: As per my request, Otis has graciously agreed to help out in the bullpen while he recovers.

Herrmann: Hey, good man.

Boden: So, any of you, you have any needs, that's your man right there.

Main: Squad 3, Truck 81, Ambulance 61, electrical hazard, 423 South Laflin.

Mouch: Be back soon, buddy.

Boden: Let's go!

Street

Casey: What's the problem?

Kid: The scoreboard fell. People are in there getting electrocuted!

Boden: Let's go.

Brett: Come here, sweetie. Come with us.

Pool

Casey: Hey! Don't!

Severide: Squad 3, use webbing to reach the victims.

Casey: Kidd, Cordova, Mouch, get these kids out of the pool. Herrmann, you and me find the utility closet. Get this power off.

Boden: Okay, let's go. Everyone out! The pool area is unsafe!

Kidd: Come on out of there. Come out of the pool. Come out. Come on, let's go. Come on, guys. Come on, guys.

Cordova: Let's get you out. Come on, swim towards me.

Kidd: Hey. Hey! Hey! Come back!

Casey: In there.

Kidd: Come back! Come on, get back here!

Herrmann: Nope. Locked.

Casey: Strike.

Kidd: Come on! Keep paddling, keep paddling.

Cordova: Get back here! Hey! Wha... Come on. There you go. There you go.

Cruz: Pull!

Cordova: Okay, now follow the others. Good job.

Kidd: Come on. Swim to me. Come on. I'm gonna get you safe.

Boden: Casey, hurry!

Casey: Yeah! We got a steel door locked tight.

Severide: Hurry!

Cruz: Got her?

Capp: Yeah.

Cordova: Come on, kid. Help us out here, huh? That's it.

Kidd: Shh, we got you.

Cordova: Let's go.

Kidd: We got you. Come on.

Cordova: We got him.

Kidd: Come on.

Mouch: Here we go.

Boden: Get your legs out!

Kidd: Come on.

Boden: Good job, guys. You okay?

Street

Jamie Wellborne: What's going on here?

Brett: Electrocution. We're just waiting for the all clear.

Dawson: Greg Hill. I didn't know you left the CFD?

Greg Hill: Yeah, eight months ago.

Dawson: How is it?

Greg Hill: SAS? It's incredible. Better pay, better insurance, no 24-hour shifts. Treat you like a human being.

Jamie Wellborne: I used to work for the fire department in Dayton, Ohio. Let me tell ya, go private, you'll never look back.

Greg Hill: Yeah, I have a life now.

Cruz: Brett, Dawson. Incoming. They both got zapped. They're still hot.

Greg Hill: Grab some towels.

Jamie Wellborne: Yep.

Dawson: Sinus tach. Sir, can you hear me?

Brett: Thermal burns. Let's check his airway.

Dawson: Airway's good.

Jamie Wellborne: Lungs are clear. No stridor.

Greg Hill: Let's get her to Med.

Herrmann: Not sure if these are clean or dirty, but beggars can't be choosers.

Kidd: Thanks.

Mouch: Couldn't find anybody to tell us which bin was which. Looks like the only two employees were the ones that got... Zapped.

Cordova: Been a long time since I jumped in a pool fully clothed.

Kidd: Oh, well, stick around. We do this kind of thing all the time.

Casey: All right. Let's get this place locked up. Herrmann, make a sign that says, "Pool closed."

Herrmann: Yep.

Casey: Who does he belong to?

Kidd: I assumed his mom or somebody was out there.

Casey: All the kids were claimed by parents.

Kidd: Hey, hon, are you here by yourself? Yeah? Aw. What's your name?

Casey: Okay, buddy. We need to get you back home. You know where you live?

Zee: No.

Casey: Okay. Let's take him back with us. Maybe he'll open up. I'll radio Boden. Bring him up to speed.

Kidd: Ever been in a firetruck? Mm-hmm.

Firehouse: Bullpen

Boden: Connie. We got a child incoming. No parent or guardian at the swimming pool. I need to talk to Headquarters, DCFS, and PD. Phone numbers ASAP, please.

Otis: I hot-keyed the emergency service numbers in my laptop a while back for my podcast. Anyway, those should be the numbers the Chief's looking for.

Connie: Thank you.

Otis: Yeah, I'll put the file on your Dropbox.

Boden: That was fast.

Kidd: Okay. Little Michael Phelps in the house.

Connie: Why don't we put him at DruAnn's desk?

Kidd: Okay. Come on. All right. Right here. There we go.

Connie: Do you like to color?

Boden: CPD is sending someone over to come and get him. Said it could take a while. But you'll be okay here, won't you, little man?

Casey: Thanks, Chief.

Boden: You're welcome.

Kidd: Okay. So you be good for these nice people, okay? And if you need me or you get scared, I'll just be right down the hall. Okay? Okay.

Chicago Med

Dawson: So, a little backstory, Cordova and I went on a few dates like a million years ago.

Brett: What?

Dawson: Yeah. And he's asking me not to say anything so that Casey gives him a fair shake.

Brett: What'd you say?

Dawson: Well, I mean, I... I was caught off-guard. I haven't said anything yet. But it doesn't matter because Casey says Cordova's not working out. So, I'm thinking I just sit back, let this problem solve itself, you know? What do you think?

Brett: Mm. He's cute though.

Dawson: Yeah. Yes, but back to my question.

Brett: I need more details. When you say a few dates, what do you mean? I mean, dinner and a movie or leave your toothbrush at his place kind of thing? Forget I said anything.

Greg Hill: Yo. Before you rush off, I wanted to give you a couple of cards. You should really come down to the Sherman offices and hear their pitch.

Jamie Wellborne: They're always interested in hiring great paramedics.

Greg Hill: I've never been treated better.

Brett: Huh.

Dawson: Cool. Thanks, guys.

Greg Hill: All right.

Firehouse: garage

Casey: You guys have an opinion on Mike Whitting?

Herrmann: Uh, he does a killer Charlie Sheen impression.

Casey: Good to know. How about Brian Kearns?

Kidd: He's... Semi-cute.

Casey: Okay. How about Sean Turner?

Herrmann: Oh. Definition of a bummer.

Kidd: Yeah.

Casey: Ugh.

Kidd: What's this about, Casey?

Casey: Looking to start a new floater next shift. These are our options.

Kidd: I thought Cordova was staying.

Casey: Yeah, he doesn't play well with others.

Herrmann: I saw that. Captain, um, those guys, they all stink. So why don't we just hang onto the one we got. He's a smartass but you saw how he jumped right into that pool this morning.

Kidd: I would not say he jumped right in. I jumped in first and then he jumped after me. So...

Herrmann: The point is... He seems competent.

Casey: Fair enough.

Severide’s office

Cruz: Lieutenant?

Severide: Yeah.

Cruz: You have a visitor on the apparatus floor.

Severide: Cruz, I got a ton of paperwork here. Can you just take care of it?

Cruz: Actually, I can't. This is a VIP you're gonna want to see.

Garage

Severide: Mom.

Jennifer Sheridan: Hi.

Severide: Hey.

Jennifer Sheridan: How are you?

Severide: What... What are you doing in Chicago?

Jennifer Sheridan: Moving in with you.

Severide: Um...

Jennifer Sheridan: Oh, get that look off your face. It's just for a few weeks.

Severide: No, really, what's this all about? What are you doing here?

Jennifer Sheridan: Well, my church in St. Paul is opening a sister church here in Chicago, and our pastor asked if I'd be willing to help out with the books.

Severide: What... What about Chicago being "too toxic"?

Jennifer Sheridan: I've done a lot of thinking about that, and, yes, I left Chicago a long time ago because... It was too fast for me. But you know what? The Bible says "Do not let your heart be troubled, and do not be afraid." So here I am. Untroubled and unafraid.

Severide: Come here.

Jennifer Sheridan: Okay?

Severide: Well, whatever the good book says to get you here, that's good enough for me. Although you could've called me and told me that you were coming.

Jennifer Sheridan: It all happened so fast, and, um...

Severide: Okay, well, you can stay with us as long as you want.

Jennifer Sheridan: Us?

Severide: Us, yeah. Uh, actually, Mom, this is Stella Kidd.

Kidd: Hi.

Severide: She's my roommate.

Kidd: Very nice to meet you. Okay, hi.

Jennifer Sheridan: Roommate?

Severide: Yeah, yeah, uh. She's a firefighter here at 51.

Jennifer Sheridan: Oh. Okay. It's a different world.

Severide: Yeah, it really is.

Kidd: Yeah.

Severide: Anyway, um, we have plenty of room. So you should be fine. Is this...

Jennifer Sheridan: Yes, yes, this is me. I travel light.

Severide: Oh. Okay, well, welcome.

Kidd: I...

Severide: And come in.

Jennifer Sheridan: Thanks.

Kidd: So...

Hallway

Brett: First shift's washing it.

Cordova: Hey. How're the lifeguard and the other guy? They make it to Med alive?

Dawson: Yeah, actually. They got some burns. But looks like they're gonna make it.

Cordova: Well, that's great.

Brett: Oh, my God, he still has a thing for you.

Dawson: What? Don't be absurd.

Brett: He's looking at you like you're the only one in the Firehouse. Just telling you what I saw.

Dawson: Ridiculous.

Brett: Anyway, it doesn't matter. Whether he knows it or not, he's got one foot out the door.

Bullpen

Otis: What are you colouring?

Zee: Mister Doggy.

Otis: Let me see. Ooh, good choice, using purple… Hey, what's that?

Zee: Dog house.

Otis: Hm. And that?

Zee: Flower.

Otis: Hm. You're smart. What's your name?

Zee: Zee.

Otis: Your full name?

Zee: Xander.

Otis: Hm, and what's your last name?

Zee: Barlow.

Otis: Hey. Can you spell that? That's very good. What are your parents' names?

Zee: Franklin and Mommy.

Otis: Ah, Franklin Barlow is your dad? What's that?

Zee: Bone.

Otis: What street do you live on?

Zee: Grenshaw.

Otis: Grenshaw? Okay… Hey, Chief. This is Xander Barlow. His father Franklin Barlow lives at 841 S. Grenshaw.

Boden: Is that right?

Otis: Mm-hmm and his phone number.

Boden: That's great news. Then call him. Tell him to come pick up his boy. That sound good, Xander? Huh.

Kitchen

Mouch: So how is St. Paul?

Jennifer Sheridan: Well, there's two seasons: winter and August 5th. But I like it. My speed.

Capp: Hey, tell us something about Severide we don't know.

Severide: You don't have to do that.

Jennifer Sheridan: Well, did he tell you where the name Kelly comes from? When he was in high school he said he was named after Machine Gun Kelly, which I'm sure his father encouraged. But actually Kelly is named after my father, John Kelly Sheridan.

Kidd: Well, that's great. You could have named him Kelly if he was a boy or a girl. You know? Well, 'cause the name Kelly, it... It can be... A girl's, um... But he's not, you know. He's obviously not. What is, um... Chief! It's... What is that word?

Boden: Are my eyes deceiving me? Is that Jennifer Severide?

Kidd: Well, it's back to Sheridan, but your eyes are fine.

Jennifer Sheridan: How are you, Wallace?

Boden: I'm great. Good to see you. You look well.

Jennifer Sheridan: You too.

Cruz: Sorry to interrupt. Lieutenant. Mind coming over to check the maintenance list on the rig?

Severide: Yeah, no problem.

Kidd: You know, lots of names can be masculine and feminine. Uh, like, uh...

Capp: Chris.

Kidd: Yes! You see?

Herrmann: It's Christopher.

Kidd: Um, I... I got to go. Uh, got to go do something.

Jennifer Sheridan: So, um, do you ever see Kelly's father?

Boden: Yeah, occasionally.

Jennifer Sheridan: Yeah, how's he look?

Boden: Well, you know, same old Benny.

Jennifer Sheridan: Mm. Yeah, that's what I figured.

Franklin Barlow: Excuse me.

Boden: Yes, sir, what can I do you for?

Franklin Barlow: Uh, my son is here. There he is!

Zee: Dad!

Franklin Barlow: Oh! You had me about scared to death, buddy. Thank you.

Boden: Oh, you're welcome.

Franklin Barlow: Aw, I missed you so much. I'm glad you're okay.

Garage

Brett: That AED monitor they had is worth more than our whole rig. It's weird seeing Greg Hill working for a private ambulance company.

Cruz: I hear that's the new normal for the CFD. Just farm out surge work to contractors.

Casey: Yeah, I remember him. He used to be at 31. He's a smart guy.

Brett: That SAS ambulance looked pretty nice.

Dawson: And he gave us their card. Said we should come down some time and hear a pitch.

Kidd: Well, your mom hates me.

Severide: Uh. No chance.

Kidd: Mm. She does.

Severide: She's a saint. She doesn't hate anyone.

Kidd: Whatever you say. Uh, but, uh, you're wrong.

Outside the firehouse

Otis: Thanks. You know, it's not so bad working in the bullpen.

Boden: Yeah?

Otis: Yeah, maybe... I can come back tomorrow.

Boden: Yeah.

May Barlow: Are you the Chief here?

Boden: Yes, ma'am.

May Barlow: I understand you have my boy. Um, I went to the pool to pick him up, and someone said they saw the firetruck take him.

Boden: I'm sorry...

May Barlow: My boy, Xander! Where is he?

Otis: Yeah, um, sorry for the confusion, but your husband came by.

May Barlow: You mean his father?

Otis: Yes.

May Barlow: You didn't hand Zee to him?

Boden: I'm sorry, ma'am, we're a little confused...

May Barlow: He doesn't have custody! He's a lunatic, and you just hand over my child to him? What gives you the right?

Briefing room

May Barlow: You would let a child go with someone... You don't even know if they had custody or not. You just let him walk out. He could have gotten seriously hurt.

Hallway

Boden: Hey. Apparently Zee's aunt picked him up from the father. He's at home now, so the boy's safety is not in question.

Otis: I feel terrible.

Boden: I shoulder the blame, Otis. I gave the go ahead to hand him over to his father.

Otis: No, Chief. This was my idea. Ma'am. Ma'am. I'm so sorry...

May Barlow: I don't want to hear it. I'm gonna go home and see if my son isn't completely traumatized by this firehouse's irresponsibility.

Boden: Maybe if you hadn't left your kindergartner at the pool like it was a damn day care center.

Otis: This was a bad idea.

Severide’s loft

Severide: Hey, Mom, you can take my room. I'll sleep on the couch.

Jennifer Sheridan: For a month?

Kidd: Well, I was gonna offer him my room, but he gets shy when he sees the bras on the shower rod.

Jennifer Sheridan: Um, can you point me in the direction of your bathroom?

Severide: Yeah, it's right there.

Jennifer Sheridan: Oh, okay.

Severide: Um.

Kidd: Do you... Okay. You see? Hates.

Severide: What? Relax. She's just a little old-fashioned.

Kidd: Oh, so I suppose you're not gonna tell her about... Whatever this is we got going on.

Severide: Look. She went through a rough patch a long time ago, and ever since she's made her life about caution. So I say that we... When I say we, I mean you... Just give it a second to let it breathe instead of trying to become instant friends.

Kidd: Okay. But what is it, exactly, that we got going on?

Severide: Uh. It's none of my mom's business. Uh, Mom, you want some coffee?

Jennifer Sheridan: Yeah, that'd be great.

Kidd: So, Jennifer... Tell me about this church that you're opening up.

Jennifer Sheridan: Oh, well, um, a couple from our congregation moved back here and thought there was a real need for some fellowship in Old Town.

Kidd: Oh, I used to live there.

Jennifer Sheridan: Hm.

Kidd: Yeah, I mean, that couple's right. The neighbourhood could use some fellowship.

Jennifer Sheridan: That's what I told our pastor.

Kidd: Mm-hmm.

Jennifer Sheridan: If I could come to town and set them up with QuickBooks to, um, you know, just get them on their feet.

Molly’s

Casey: This mother seem satisfied at all she got her son back? I mean, that's the important thing.

Boden: Not by a long shot.

Herrmann: Lawsuit. You watch.

Mouch: Nothing will surprise me anymore.

Dawson: I just feel bad for Otis.

Boden: It wasn't his fault.

Casey: Yo! Cordova.

Cordova: I heard this is where 51 hangs out.

Casey: It is. Glad you could make it. Let me buy you a drink.

Cordova: Oh, thanks, Captain.

Casey: Hey, I've been meaning to compliment you on how quickly you've fallen into step with the rest of the crew. Everyone's been saying good things.

Cordova: Really?

Reimers: Is that Jake Cordova?

Cordova: Reimers. You still at 93's house?

Reimers: I thought you didn't come to Molly's.

Cordova: Oh, I live across town...

Reimers: No, no, that's not it. You said you didn't come here 'cause you used to bang one of the owners.

Street

Dawson: We dated a nanosecond like a decade ago, and I didn't want you to have a bad impression before he had a chance to establish himself. So I didn't say anything. And then you said that you were getting rid of him.

Casey: How long was a nanosecond?

Dawson: Like... Like noth... A few weeks. I don't even remember. Babe, please, just put yourself in my shoes.

Casey: Put yourself in mine. You really think I'm gonna ding a guy just because of something happened before I even knew you. I just don't understand why you didn't tell me… I'm heading home.

Dawson: Matt.

Outside the firehouse

Boden: Hey. How's Otis?

Cruz: He didn't come out for breakfast this morning.

Brett: I talked to him for just a second. He's beating himself up pretty hard about the whole thing.

Boden: Yeah, I figured. I'll call him from my desk.

Dawson: You sure everything's all right?

Casey: I'm sure.

Dawson: Okay.

Street

Jennifer Sheridan: Thank you so much for letting me borrow the car.

Severide: Yeah, sure. Where you headed?

Jennifer Sheridan: Uh. Well, I'm going to have coffee with your father. Now, before you say anything, or ask for the keys back, just hear me out. I need to see him to look into his eyes. I want him to know he didn't break me.

Severide: I think it's a good idea.

Jennifer Sheridan: You do?

Severide: Yeah, I think it'll do you good. And I know you can handle it. I've never seen you stronger.

Jennifer Sheridan: Mm. Thank you.

Kidd: Uh, how long has it been since you've last seen him?

Jennifer Sheridan: Oh, a long, long time.

Kidd: Well, hey, let him have it.

Jennifer Sheridan: I will. You two be safe.

Kidd: Did you hear that? She said you two... Be safe.

Severide: Yeah. Yeah, I heard it.

Kidd: You two, like me.

Severide: I heard it.

Firehouse: locker room

Cordova: Hey, Captain. I feel like I need explain. I never meant to put anyone in an uncomfortable position.

Casey: It was a long time ago. I don't care. Gabby's my wife now, and I'm your boss. It's not gonna get in the way of my job. So it better not get in the way of yours.

Cordova: No, of course not.

Casey: Good. I'm gonna get some coffee.

Bullpen

Chief Tiberg: Wallace.

Boden: Ugh, don't tell me. This is about the boy we gave to the wrong parent.

Chief Tiberg: You're right about that.

Boden: Is the mom suing the CFD?

Chief Huffhines: Worse, she's threatening to go straight to the news channels. She's not waiting for lawyers. She says she's on TV tonight.

Chief Tiberg: Or we cut her a check. And I promise you, Wallace, this isn't gonna be on me.

Barlow’s house

Otis: Ma'am, ju... Just one moment, please. I just want to apologize. It wasn't the CFD's fault… It wasn't the CFD's fault we let Xander go home with his father. It was mine. I, uh... I was recently injured at work and, uh, I wanted so badly to prove to my Chief I wasn't useless. And so in my haste to matter, I guess I acted too quickly in letting Zee go home with someone who I thought looked like a loving parent. Again, I sincerely apologize.

May Barlow: Got it.

Otis: Hey, it's me again. That little stick figure family decal, that looks brand new.

May Barlow: I think you'd better leave.

Otis: Yeah, I thought Z's dad, he was out of the picture.

May Barlow: I said leave.

Otis: Are you scamming us?

Franklin Barlow: What's wrong, baby?

Otis: Yep. You're scamming us.

Zee: Dad!

Firehouse: briefing room

Chief Huffhines: I say let's get ahead of this, but I don't think there's any getting out in front of anything.

Ms. Simmons: Speaking on behalf of the mayor's office, we can afford a settlement more than we can afford the 24-hour news cycle going for our jugulars.

Boden: What are you saying, Ms. Simmons?

Ms. Simmons: We make her an offer, and we make this go away.

Otis: That won't be necessary.

Boden: Otis. I'm not sure this is the time.

Otis: They're scam artists.

Chief Tiberg: Who is?

Otis: The mother and father. They cooked it up after the dad picked up the boy. It's like a slip and fall. They just... They thought they could milk some easy money out of the city.

Boden: Do not give these people a dime.

Ms. Simmons: You don't have to tell me. Send me that photo. Gentlemen.

Boden: Thanks.

Garage

Dawson: My mom used to say that if there was a puddle outside, I'd find it. If she put white on me, it wouldn't stay white very long. I don't know why I can't seem to go a week without stepping into some 51 drama.

Brett: That's every workplace. You put three people in an office, there's gonna be office politics.

Dawson: Yeah, but I go home with one of the bosses.

Brett: This will blow over.

Dawson: Maybe I should give SAS some thought. You know, just... Just draw a separation line. This is work. This is personal. Nice and clean.

Brett: You don't mean that. You love the CFD.

Main: Ambulance 61.

Dawson: It wouldn't be the worst thing to hear them out.

Main: Man down from unknown causes.

Street

Brett: I'll call a second ambo.

Dawson: Oh, good. Hey, buddy. What's your name?

Savion: Savion.

Dawson: What happened? You and your friend having a duel?

Savion: Screw that punk.

Brett: All right, one to the chest, one to the abdomen. No exit wound. Pulse is weak.

Savion: Good.

Dawson: Hey!

Savion: Fix me. Not him. I can't move my damn legs.

Jamie Wellborne: Oh, not what we thought it was.

Brett: What the hell does that mean?

Greg Hill: We thought this call was from a couple blocks over. We're not allowed to take high-risk patients.

Brett: High-risk for what?

Dawson: No insurance.

Jamie Wellborne: Well, look, there's two of you, so...

Brett: Hey! You can't just leave us here. We have multiple victims.

Greg Hill: It's not our choice. It's company mandate.

Gunshots

Brett: Dawson!

Dawson: Need a 10-1 to 257 W. Kamerling Ave. We got an active shooter situation.

Savion: Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

Dawson: Hey, do you want to die? You got to hold still, okay? So I can bandage you to make it to the hospital.

Boden: Hold your fire! We're trying to help you guy... Get out of here!

Cordova: Hold your fire! Hold your fire! Hold your fire!

Casey: You okay? We heard the 10-1.

Mouch: Beat the cops here.

Herrmann: Of course.

Dawson: Multiple gunshot victims. This guy was pretty mouthy before he passed out. But his pulse is strong.

Brett: My guy's not so lucky. ETA on another ambulance is like five minutes.

Boden: Okay, load them both in the 61.

Casey: Cordova, help the medics.

Cordova: Yeah.

Casey: We'll meet you at the hospital. Come on, come on… Right on time as usual.

Chicago Med

Brett: Both GSWs are gonna make it.

Dawson: Really?

Brett: That's what Dr. Choi said. Both men are stable.

Dawson: Oh. How's your insurance, ma'am? You all paid up?

Patient: Excuse me?

Dawson: You know, I've been thinking about your offer to come over and work private.

Greg Hill: Mm-hmm.

Dawson: I'm gonna go ahead and pass.

Brett: Me too.

Severide’s loft

Severide: Hey, Mom. You want to grab breakfast with Stella and me? I'm buying.

Benny Severide: Oh, hey, Champ.

Jennifer Sheridan: Hi. Hey, honey. Guess what? We're getting back together.

Boden’s office

Boden: Otis.

Otis: Hey, I wanted to catch you before you headed out.

Boden: Of course.

Otis: I... I just wanted to say that, uh... If you need me to keep coming to the bullpen just until I pass my medical clearance then I guess I could help you out.

Boden: You sure?

Otis: No, yeah... I mean... There are a few places that I could help Connie streamline some things. And Molly's North doesn't open until 4:30, so... Yeah, sure. Happy to do it.

Boden: Sounds great. Like I said, that's a real favour to me.

Otis: Okay. Then, um, see you tomorrow.

Boden: Sounds good. And, Otis... Thanks.

Otis: No problem.

Casey’s office

Dawson: All right. I messed up. I should have said something the second he showed up at 51. I'm sorry. I'll tell you as many times as you want. I'm sorry.

Casey: I wish this was the first time you've held something back from me. But it isn't. There was the whole thing with Bria too… I love you. More than anything. Every time you leave me out, you put a little more distance between us.

Dawson: It won't happen again… I don't want any distance between us.

Casey: Okay.

Dawson: Okay?

Casey: Yeah.
